CONSULTANT

Jaclyn began her career at PS 158 in Manhattan, teaching first in an inclusive classroom setting and then in a general education classroom setting, where Jennifer Serravallo was one of her literacy coaches. Her classrooms were often used as labsites for teachers from across the city to view highly regarded practices in teaching literacy and she coached numerous students pursing their masters in literacy as interns. Jaclyn’s charts and the work of her students were also featured in The Reading Strategies Book, as well as Understanding Texts and Readers.

She continued her career teaching in one of the top elementary schools on Long Island. She advanced her own professional learning by becoming a lead teacher, attending workshops on teaching reading and writing and then sharing information with grade level colleagues. In addition, Jaclyn implemented student directed learning initiatives in literacy that later became part of a school-wide goal.

Jaclyn holds a BS in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education from Syracuse University, a MA in Literacy from Teachers College Columbia University, a Gifted Education extension from University at Buffalo, and an Advanced Certificate as a School Building Leader and School District Leader from LIU Post.

She currently resides on Long Island with her husband and three boys.
