Demonstrated Effectiveness
The 2022-2023 school year was the second year we worked with grade 7 and 8 teachers, and the first year we worked with 6th grade teachers. The school’s goal was to increase the number of students reading at or above a proficient level by 10% and they far exceeded their goal with a 15% overall increase. Note that the students who were in the school the longest (8th graders) were the highest achieving at the start of the year, and also made the most growth. These students had teachers who benefitted from two years of professional learning from the literacy specialist on our team.

Staff members who participate in professional learning are outperforming prior official evaluations because of the clarity of their instruction and ability to tie teaching to student goals.
