Demonstrated Effectiveness
The 40 hours of professional learning focused on strengthening differentiated instruction through the analysis of formative and summative data to inform flexible, needs-based small groups. Educators incorporated research-based small group strategies using visual scaffolds, effective modeling, and guided practice. Scaffolding techniques supported diverse learners. Additionally, the work emphasized building teacher collaboration through PLCs, peer observations, and coaching cycles to sustain professional growth and instructional improvement. All but one teacher’s class showed double-digit net gains, affirming that professional learning strategies were scaled effectively across varied classroom contexts.

As a first-year literacy coach in a district that needs intentional, high-quality literacy instruction, I am so thankful for our literacy specialist’s help in navigating small group intervention strategies, coaching cycle implementation, and data-driven decision making. She is an excellent coach and confidence-booster, and our work together will continue to have an impact on the teachers & students in my district.
